1. National Defense Academy [NDA]
  • NDA is one of the most sought after defence entrance exams in the country. NDA recruitment is conducted for admission to Army, Navy and Air Force wings of NDA and Indian Naval Academy Course (INAC). NDA is conducted twice a year. The exam is conducted two stages - written exam and SSB Interview. Around 4 lakh aspirants sit for NDA every year, out of which approximately 6000 are called for SSB Interview. 
  • Eligibility
  • Gender: Only male candidates will be eligible to apply for NDA 2020.
  • Marital Status: Applying candidate must be unmarried.
  • Age limit for NDA I: Candidates should have been born between 2nd July 2001 and 1st July 2004. Candidates born earlier & later than the prescribed dates are not eligible.
  • Age Limit for NDA II: Candidates should have been born between 2nd January 2002 & 1st January 2005. No candidate born earlier & later than the prescribed dates will be eligible.
  • Educational Qualification:
    • For Army Wing of National Defence Academy (NDA): Candidates must qualify 12th or equivalent examination.
    • For Air Force & Naval wings of NDA & for 10+2 Cadet Entry Scheme at the Indian Naval Academy: Candidates must qualify 12th or equivalent examination with Physics & Mathematics as compulsory subjects.
  • Appearing: Candidates appearing in the qualifying examination will be also eligible.
  • Physical Standards: Candidates must be physically fit as per the norms laid down by the officials.

2. Technical Entry Scheme
Indian Army provides opportunity to the candidates aspiring to become an officer in Engineering Core of Army twice a year through Indian Army Technical Entry Scheme (Army TES). TES is open for all such candidates who have qualified 12th standard in Science stream. The selected candidates are admitted to engineering course by the Army and they are appointed directly on the Rank of Lieutenant after the successful completion of the course.
However, it’s noteworthy that Indian Army Technical Entry Scheme is open for male candidates only. TES programmes commences twice a year in January and July. The duration of course is five years. Notification for the course floats during the months of May / June and October / November

Educational Eligibility

  • Only those applicants are eligible for TES, who have passed 10+2 or Equivalent with a minimum aggregate of 70% in subject Mathematics, Chemistry, and Physics.
  • Eligibility conditions for calculating PCM% of various state/central boards will be based on the marks secured in 10+2 only.

Age limit

  • The Age of Applicant must be fall between the age group of 16 ½ and 19 ½ years. I.e. Applicant Should not be born before 1 July 2000 and after 1 July 2003.
  • The document acceptable as a proof is a certification of matriculation recognized from any respective board.
  • No other document will be the concern as a proof an age.

Physical Standard

  • Candidate must be physically and mentally fit. No candidate will be admitted to the academy that has poor health in any manner.
  • Height: Minimum standard height as per standard is 157.5cm (applicants who belong to the Northeastern region of India, Garhwal and Kumoun Himalayas, Gorkha community have relief of 5cm in Height measure).
  • For the candidates from Lakshadweep relief of 2cm is granted in height.
  • Chest Expansion: to check lung capacity of candidate the process of chest expansion is very crucial. A minimum of 5 cm after a full expiration is required.
  • No mental breakdown: Candidate should be free from any past history of mental breakdown.
  • Hearing Power: It is a must to have a great hearing power as one fit person should have. The applicant should be able to hear a forced with each ear in a quite from a distance of 610cm.
  • Mild Kyphosis: It is a rare condition in which a person faces a problem in normal muscle movement.
  • Eye Sight: candidates should have a clear vision in case of little bit up and down, Myopia should not be more than 2.5D and Hypermetropia not more than 3.5 D.
  • Teeth: yes, teeth also play a role in physical standard .candidates should have at least 14 dental points out of a total of 22 dental points.
3. Soldier Entry Scheme
    In this scheme India army organise recruitment rallies in different places . Through this rallies Indian Army conduct written test, medical test, and physical test through which an individual is being posted on a particular rank. Through this rallies you can apply in curtain posts like Soldier General Duty, Soldier Tradesmen, soldier Clerk, Soldier technology, Soldier nursing assistant. 

Eligibility criteria
1.Soldier General Duty:
Age limit: 17 half to 21 years
Education: minimum did 10th 
2. Soldier Tradesmen:
Age limit:17½-23yrs
Education:10th/ITI and 8th pass 
3. Soldier Clerk: 
Age limit: 17½-23yrs
Education: 10+2 (40% in maths and English minimum).
4. Soldier technology:
Age limit: 17½-23
Education: 10+2(40% in PCM)
5. Soldier nursing assistant:
Age limit: 17½-23
Education: 10+2 (40%in PCB)
